World Electronic Sports Masters Cup Results PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sabre0001
Monday, 01 March 2010 11:10

Sixteen teams took part in the World Electronic Sports Masters Cup (27-28 February 2010) with $3,500 on the line.  Evil Geniuses were bootcamping in Europe ahead of the Intel Extreme Masters Global Finals and will be glad that they competed after scooping the $2,000 first place prize.  H2K.Gaming and  cbtream topped Group A and B respectively which earned them a place in the semi finals.  PeopleInGame would face  Playzone.swe while  EGIPTYANE had the mammoth task of facing  Evil Geniuses for a place in the semi finals.

Evil Geniuses made light work of EGIPTYANE while Playzone.swe progressed with a 2:1 win over PeopleInGame. The dream of an all Swedish final was shattered in the semi finals but it was a hard fought battle. Evil Geniuses took a 2:1 win over H2K.Gaming but were pushed all the way while cbteam claimed a moderately easier 2:1 win against Playzone.se. Unfortunately, interested onlookers were also denied the prospect of an all Swedish 3rd-4th place playoff as H2K.Gaming defaulted the match. Evil Geniuses were awarded the opportunity to take revenge against cbteam after the earlier loss in the group stage and took it with both hands. cbteam couldn't keep with the Americans and fell to a 2:0 loss.

Final Standings:
1st:  Evil Geniuses - $2,000
2nd:  cbteam - $1,000
3rd:  Playzone.se - $500
4th:  H2K Gaming
